Drowning

I feel like I'm sinking
and you shove me 
farther down
into the black abyss
of a rising ocean,
asking me all the while
if I am okay. 

I cannot swim
fast enough
to escape.

I give up
and suck in
the water - 
only then
am I free
of you.
